Elective Surgeries are Cancelled, etc.

Hello WBAH Clients,

First and foremost, we hope that his email finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

Our latest COVID-19 Coronavirus update is that White Bear Animal Hospital has had to cancel all elective surgeries and procedures in accordance with Minnesota Governor Walz’s Executive Order. The Order is intended to conserve personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes non-sterile exam gloves as well as surgical caps, gowns, masks, and sterile gloves.

Elective surgeries or procedures include spays, neuters, declaws, dental procedures for mild to moderate dental disease, and cosmetic or non-cancerous tumor excisions.

We have taken an inventory of our PPE and are looking for the best way to donate our surplus supplies while maintaining enough for our own needs.

As of today, we are continuing to see sick and injured pets, puppies and kittens that need vaccines, and pets that need lab work. Our curbside service is working well, now that we are all getting the hang of it.

An additional service we are considering is a Telemedicine Appointment, which would allow our veterinarians to discuss your pet’s case through shared audio +/- video. Please look for future updates about this new service.

In the event of a state-wide order to Shelter-in-Place, we are hoping that our veterinary services will be designated as an Essential Service, so that we can continue to care for our patients in need. Please feel free to contact the Governor’s Office to advocate on our behalf by going to https://mn.gov/governor/contact/.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks for your understanding during this challenging time, stay safe, and we will do our best to do the same.

Sincerely,

The Team at White Bear Animal Hospital.
