Coronavirus Alert (3/14/2020)

Dear WBAH Clients,

We at White Bear Animal Hospital want to reassure you that we are monitoring both human and animal health alerts related to the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA):

1. “Infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations agree there is no evidence at this point to indicate that pets become ill with COVID-19 or that they spread it to other animals, including people.”

2. “Out of an abundance of caution, it is recommended that those ill with COVID-19 limit contact with animals until more information is known about the virus. Have another member of your household take care of walking, feeding, and playing with your pet. If you have a service animal or you must care for your pet, then wear a face mask; don’t share food, kiss, or hug them; wash your hands before and after any contact with them.

Regarding caregivers of pets, if you or a human family member has experienced any flu-like symptoms (fever, body aches, headache, runny nose, diarrhea, vomiting, sore throat, cough) within 14 days of your pet’s scheduled appointment, we ask that you contact us to discuss the medical needs of your pet and reschedule the appointment for another day. If the pet must be seen, we will work with the person you designate to accompany the pet to the appointment.

Additionally, due to our sanitation protocols, you may experience a wait for your appointment.

Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time, and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

The Team at White Bear Animal Hospital
