In Loving Memory

11/10/2007 to 5/17/2019

Sam came into our lives when he was 4 years old from a somewhat abusive situation. He was misunderstood as being mean when in reality, he was scared and defending himself the only way he knew. He was actually a true gentleman and noble dog; the only problem we had was him stealing food. The first day we met Sam, he was very nervous but when he did come in to stillness, he sat on my feet. I guess he claimed me so we welcomed him into our family immediately and he quickly became known as The Mayor. He heard the words “good boy” several times every day. He was a world class counter surfer and currently holds the world records for the most food eaten in one sitting in the following categories: pizza, left over turkey, loafs of bread, sticks of butter, and raw eggs (24) dripping to the floor! Yes we love Sam regardless of his food thievery; at least he did it very well. He really knew how to take a chance and live life when it came along and he was never mean or aggressive. He always had the biggest kindest heart. He loved his 1/2 inflated yellow soccer ball for years and even played with my 1 year old grandson rolling a small (yellow) ball back and forth so lovingly and tenderly. Sam loyally slept on my side of the bed. Then each morning, when I got up, he would move to Lorri’s side of the bed – like a devoted guard always on duty. Sam will forever be an energy of joy & love in our hearts.
